How much does it cost?
The monthly fee varies according to the number of lessons.
As Live Lessons is based in Japan, the prices are based on yen, but can be converted into various currencies depending on the country.
We have plans from 5,800 yen per month for INDIVIDUAL CLASSES.
For prices with more classes and discount options, visit our online calculator at the following link:
How does it work?
We have courses in Japanese, English, Portuguese for foreigners and IT (all levels - from basic to advanced).
LIVE LESSONS JAPAN Internet classes are much more than just simple online language courses. They are face-to-face courses, where you don't have to leave your home to attend classes. It's as if you were having a private teacher come to your home to give you lessons.
Our big difference is that students don't have to learn on their own through countless pre-recorded videos and a multitude of exercises. Instead, they have INDIVIDUAL CLASSES with teachers who speak and understand the student's language.
Live Lessons students can:
- take classes on different days and at different times (FLEX and Premium);
- book and unbook lessons in advance (FLEX and Premium);
- choose the teachers you want to have lessons with (Premium);
- have your lessons recorded so you can review them as many times as you like (Premium);
- take classes in alternating shifts (one week during the day and another at night);
- have a wide range of times available: Tell us at least 3 options of days and times, among the following:
- Mon to Fri (from 7am to 10am) or (from 7pm to 10pm);
- Sat / Sun and public holidays (from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.);
- all this and much more without leaving home.

How can I pay for the classes?
In Japan, payments can be made at any Convenience Store (cash only), bank transfer, deposit via Post Office ATM or Credit Card via Pay Pal.
From other countries, it is possible via Pay Pal according to the options available in each country (credit card, boleto bancário, etc.).
Do I receive any printed material or is everything online?
When you register, you will receive the books for the course you are going to take. This material will be sent directly to your home anywhere in the world.
How long does it take for the material to arrive at my home?
For students living in Japan, the delivery time usually varies from 1 to 2 days, via Takkyuubin or the post office. Payment must be made at the time of delivery.
For students from other countries, the delivery time varies according to the distance between that country and Japan, as the books are sent by post.
Do I have to wait for the material to arrive before I start taking the lessons?
No. The student can start taking lessons immediately after the first payment, which may vary depending on the country in which the student lives. For residents of Japan, the first payment can be made at convenience stores or upon delivery of the material by the Post Office or express delivery services such as Yamato Takkyuubin.
For students living in another country, the first payment can be made by Credit Card via Pay Pal or some other means provided by PayPal in the country where the student resides.
Together with the material, the student receives a course activation code. This code must be entered after logging in to the Live Lessons Japan website in order to start the course and book lessons.
How many lessons per month?
It depends on the plan and the number of lessons chosen. In the trial lesson, the student can ask about all the available options in more detail and choose the plan that best suits their financial conditions and needs.

Are lessons given via Skype, WhatsApp, etc.?
We do not use Skype, Facetime, Messenger, Zoom, WhatsApp, etc. for lessons, as these applications are not didactically appropriate and have not been developed for online lessons.
We have a virtual classroom that has all the resources of a real classroom.
The student can see and hear the teacher, view the explanations on the Whiteboard and participate in the lesson interactively. It's like being in a classroom. That's why Live Lessons courses are considered face-to-face classes. In order to attend classes, the student needs to be present with the teacher in real time.
Can I book lessons at any time?
Yes, as long as there is a teacher available at the time you want to take the class.
If all the teachers are already scheduled to teach at the time you want, you can choose the next time or another time that suits you.
The scheduling system is all automatic and you know right away if you've managed to get an appointment or not.
Can I cancel a lesson at short notice?
Not at short notice.
The maximum time limit for canceling a previously scheduled lesson is 16 hours before the start of the lesson. You can have the lesson canceled automatically by the system. This is necessary to prevent other students and the teachers themselves from being harmed: if the lesson is canceled at short notice, another student will have missed the opportunity to study at that time and the teacher could teach another student.
If the lesson cannot be rescheduled in advance, it will be considered absent.
Does Live Lessons Japan only offer courses for those who live in Japan or can they be taken from anywhere in the world?
Students from anywhere in the world who have a reasonable internet speed can take classes.
How much do the lessons cost and how often can I take them?
Tuition fees can be found on the website itself. Just click on How much does it cost.
As far as attendance is concerned, students can choose the pace they prefer and the number of lessons.
Ideally, you should take the first Trial Class to see all the possible plans and choose one that's right for you.
What happens if, for some reason of force majeure, the teacher I've chosen can't give the lesson I've scheduled?
If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson, he or she must do so in advance. We will then contact you to let you know, and you can choose a new day when the teacher is available or arrange for a substitute teacher.
If the school can't find a substitute teacher in time, it will be considered a teacher absence and the student will receive an extra lesson as compensation in addition to having the canceled lesson returned.
When I click on the link to enter the classroom, no window opens and consequently I can't get into the classroom. What should I do?
To enter the room, you need to allow Pop Up Windows in your browser. Some antivirus software blocks this automatically, so it is necessary to disable this function.
What is the minimum equipment needed to take Live Lessons Japan classes?
- Stable, high-speed Internet connection (broadband recommended).
- Headphones (to avoid echo)
- Webcam (recommended)
If I don't take all the lessons I'm entitled to in a month, do I lose those lessons?
No.
Credits (= lessons) that are not used in the previous month can be used in the following months, as long as the monthly fee for each month is up to date. However, for the consumption of accumulated credits, it should be noted that there is a maximum limit per month for the use of accumulated lessons. This limit is equal to the number of lessons the student is paying for in the month (per course). In other words, if the student is on the 4 lessons plan (1 time per week) they can consume + 4 lessons of those accumulated that month (4 normal lessons + 4 accumulated lessons = 8 lessons that month).
If the student changes their plan for the following month to 8 lessons, for example (2 times a week), they will be able to take the 8 lessons to which they are normally entitled + 8 lessons from the accumulated lessons, for a total of 16 lessons that month.
Are all teachers foreigners? Do they understand Portuguese ?
We have Japanese, American and Peruvian teachers who understand and speak Portuguese, as well as Brazilian teachers who are trained to teach. Depending on the student's level, we can recommend the most suitable teachers. Our main goal is for the student to really learn. All our teachers are highly qualified and have undergone rigorous selection and training in order to offer the best in language teaching.
